Laptop bags come in all kinds of styles. From classic bags to laptop sleeves, backpacks, and totes, the way you carry your laptop computer has evolved into a truly functional and sometimes fashionable accessory. Check out the various types of laptop bags below to see which one is right for your needs.
eBags Downloader Laptop Backpack A laptop backpack is a great way to carry around your laptop hands-free. Obviously this type of bag is ideal for college students, but you can also use it for work and when traveling. One bonus of a backpack is that it rests on your back making it easier to avoid bumping the computer against walls, doorways, etc. when walking around. For a great laptop backpack, check out the eBags Downloader or The North Face Surge.
CODi Phantom CT3 Checkpoint Friendly Laptop Bag If you travel a lot, especially for business, a checkpoint friendly laptop bag will make getting through airport security easier. For example, the CODi Phantom CT3 Checkpoint Tested Laptop Bag eliminates the need to remove your laptop when passing through the security checkpoint, thereby saving you time and stress.
Clark & Mayfield Laptop Tote For a laptop bag that looks more like a handbag, check out laptop totes. Many come with interior laptop sleeves and most are padded for additional protection. Best sellers include the Clark & Mayfield Metro-Express and the Dakine Ella.
Case Logic Laptop Sleeve If you carry your laptop in with another bag such as your own backpack or tote bag, consider a laptop sleeve to protect it even more. Regular bags and backpacks may not provide enough cushioning for your computer in the event that you hit the bag on something or drop it. Laptop sleeves, however, are designed to do just that. Some laptop sleeves come with handles so you can use them as classic laptop bags with little bulk but most are simply like covers that can be used in conjunction with other bags. Camera Backpacks for Photography Enthusiasts

July 27, 2008 By: Abbie Category: Laptops and Cameras, Travel Backpacks No Comments →

Your camera case strap got tangled up in a wild rose bush when you leaned in to take a photo of a butterfly. Once you untangled it and bandaged your bleeding fingers, you decided to carry the camera around your neck like a tourist. Minutes later, you sadly gazed from your scratched lens to the rock you banged the camera on. Isn’t there a better solution for photographers on the go? Camera backpacks give you the protection of an old-fashioned camera case without it dangling in the way.

When you shop for a camera backpack, you should:

  • Think about future needs. If you are a new photographer and you are hiking locally, you may not have very much equipment now. However, you will probably be adding to your equipment as your skills improve and you begin planning major hiking trips so that you can shoot photos of the flora and fauna of different regions. A pack that has room for tripods, extra lenses and a second camera body will give you plenty of growing space for your new hobby.
  • Consider looking for a pack that has a designated space for your laptop computer. While you may not need to haul your computer up Mount Everest with you, it is nice to be able to tuck your laptop into the pack while you are traveling on the plane or driving to a new location.

Laptop Backpacks Make Transporting Laptops Simple

July 21, 2008 By: James Category: Laptops and Cameras No Comments →

eBags Downloader Laptop Backpack As you juggle your laptop bag, your attaché case, your purse and your keys, you wonder what you’ll do if you have to hold on to one more … Oh, no! The keys. As you make a grab for them, your laptop bag’s handle slips from your grasp. It seems like everything is happening in slow motion, but, all too soon, you hear the crash of the bag holding that expensive new laptop hitting the concrete. Somehow, the laptop stayed safe, but you don’t ever want this to happen again. Didn’t you hear something about laptop backpacks?

A laptop backpack is a great way to securely transport your computer from place to place. You don’t have to worry about losing your grip on a handle or having someone snatch the bag from your hand because it is securely attached to you by the pack’s shoulder straps.

To buy the right pack for your laptop, be sure that it will fit inside. Older laptops are much larger and thicker than the new slim line models. You should also be sure that there is extra room for any accessories you want to carry, such as your webcam, your mouse and your power cord.

Outdoor Photography Gear - The Camera Backpack

May 19, 2008 By: James Category: Backpack Styles, Laptops and Cameras No Comments →

Tamrac Camera Backpack If you have a nice camera and like to shoot outdoors, it can pay to think ahead of time as to the best way to bring your gear. Protecting your things is a priority when moving gear from one place to another, but so is having everything with you that you might need for capturing the scenery.

Think ahead as to what you will bring besides your camera. Will you be doing any close-in shots on flowers or butterflies? You’ll want to be sure you have a macro lens along for the trip. Those who own wide angle lenses should really consider packing them every time; you never know when the perfect shot will pop up outdoors. Other gear such as a tripod, remote control and reflectors may be things to bring along as well, depending on what you plan on shooting.

All this gear needs a safe place to go. Regular bags are often a danger zone for delicate camera equipment. Consider investing in a camera backpack to protect your things while hiking around for the perfect spot to set up. These bags have padded compartments for lenses and cameras, and some will even accommodate a laptop if you shoot digital and want to bring it along for the trip.

Laptop Backpack - The Perfect High School Graduation Gift

May 14, 2008 By: Shari Category: Back To School, Backpack Styles, College Backpacks, Laptops and Cameras, School Bags No Comments →

It’s that time again. Time for the school year to come to a close and, for high school grads, time to start getting ready for the move to college. Many parents are choosing to get their future college students laptops as graduation gifts, but with laptops comes the need to protect them and transport them safely from class to dorm to library to wherever. Enter the laptop backpack.

Laptop bags come in many styles, but the laptop backpack is different because not only can you carry along papers and books along with your backpack, but the load is balanced better than traditional shoulder bags. Just think - no more banging the laptop bag into doors, cars, and other people. And that translates into better protected laptops and accessories.

Plus, these packs come in many patterns and materials suitable for any style. Check out some of the selections below:

So if you’re looking to get your grad a laptop for graduation, consider also purchasing a laptop backpack along with it.

Computer Backpack or Bag? You Decide….

May 07, 2008 By: Misty Category: Laptops and Cameras No Comments →

The North Face Surge Just look around and you can see laptop bags everywhere in all sizes, shapes and colors. Ever notice that they swing around a bit? How about the fact that they are usually slung over one shoulder? Although there is nothing wrong with this, perhaps you may want to consider carrying a computer backpack instead.

Computer backpacks have many of the same features as their “bag” brothers, but also have the advantage of better weight distribution and stability. A properly fitted backpack will sit comfortably on the wearer’s body without swinging around like a bag sometimes does. In addition, the backpack might just be a little bit more secure than a loose bag. After all, it is worn, not carried.

The most crucial thing to be sure of if you go this route is size. You’ll want to be sure that your computer fits in the backpack and that the pack itself is comfortable when worn. If you need extra compartments for cords and things like that, be sure to check out the specs before you bring it home. There are some great choices out there that can make taking your computer with you a pleasure instead of a problem.
